One of the most important B vitamins for energy is vitamin B12. It is responsible for the formation of red blood cells and the maintenance of a healthy nervous system. B12 is important for the rapid synthesis of DNA cell division such as bone marrow formation. It is also important in the maintenance of the central nervous system. The nerves in our nervous system are surrounded by something called a myelin sheath. B12 is necessary for the formation of the myelin sheath. The myelin sheath is what speeds signals to the brain.

Vitamin B12 also plays an important role in the production of iron in your body and it also helps to break down carbohydrates into glucose for needed energy. Vitamin B12 is a powerful antioxidant that protects the body from the damage that free radicals can do.

If you are feeling unusually tired all the time, see your doctor. He will run several tests to find the cause of your fatigue. Sometimes anemia can be the reason behind the fatigue and something as simple as increasing your intake of iron will fix the problem.
