Vintage Cars: Racing It Out On The Field

There are numerous questions on what vintage racing is and how it all started. What are the rules and standards that hold it together? Is it possible for a vintage car as old as time to race through rough terrain edges and dangerous curves without experiencing a sudden breakdown? Here you would find out more about vintage car racing.

The Environment

Vintage car racing has a specific premise and that is to provide an environment where in every single competitor can have absolute fun without having any trouble outside the tracks. Every place chosen is assured to be safe for both the car and the driver. If the environment is not favorable no matter how sunny it is, the race will be cancelled.

The Philosophy

Create, support and maintain a new group of racers named Vintage wherein one is able to use very old cars in a racing competition without having the slightest possible modification. In the event, every single racer is recognized for who they are by what they drive and how their performance will proliferate throughout the entire event.

The Intention

Recreate the environment of the old racing days wherein camaraderie precede through the competition yet still maintaining a high level of safety for every racer. It is imposed that these old cars are allowed to dominate the streets for as long as they have safety equipments like roll bars, fire extinguishers and seat belts to ensure the drivers overall safety. Every drivers safety gear must always be attached to the driver whenever a race is in progress. However, it should meet the standards set by GCR.

The Upgrades

Upon the success of imposing vintage safety, the council has decided to upgrade all gears to a whole new level. Aside from what was already there, the council required electric cut-off switch, window nets, fuel cells and arm restraints. Other strong recommendations imposed by the GCR are the fire systems and full cages although, these are not really required.

The Modifications

There are still debates on the different allowable modifications and turned out more like a challenge. General guideline stated anything that could have been made to use the car in the race within the year of its production can also be done to the car at the present time's.

The Driver

One of the most important specifications made was about the drivers attitude and preparation. It is always a must to feel confident towards ones awareness and ability. Furthermore, every vintage car driver must be aware of their autos characteristics to be able to drive accordingly.
