Nintendo has definitely crossed the line between conventional gaming and the future. For those who lived their life playing video games, Nintendo assured that Wii is the best thing that has happened in their gaming lives. The impact of Nintendo's newly enhanced features to the gaming industry is a risk the company has to take. Though Nintendo claims that Wii is not the Revolution people used to know.
One of the basic options that players can go for is the Wii Channel. And one part of which is the Photo Channel. It's not that complicated like some are claiming. In fact, it is one of the most admirable features the Wii offers.
With the Photo Channel, you can view videos and photos that came from internet streaming or something that is a product of your own. It is applicable with SD memory cards or even cell phone memories. This lets you display the movies and images of your choice on your TV screen. You can choose to minimize or maximize the images or make it like a slideshow. To spice it up, you can also upload songs from the memory card to be played as background music as the slideshow goes.
The image file type that is compatible with the feature is the JPEG format with a size of up to 8192 x 8192. Video file compatibility is the Quicktime format. In terms of audio, there would be 2 options. The Photo Channel 1.0 requires an MP3 format. On the other hand, a Photo Channel 1.1 requires the AAC format.
You have to take note though. Because some files may not work in the abovementioned formats. Audio components may not be played. If you have used an SD memory card with a transfer speed as slow as a turtles walking velocity, an irregular playback or long load times can result.
After choosing the compatible formats, its now time to have fun with your images. You can use cool effects or make adorable puzzles out of your pictures. You can also draw certain colorful designs and post these edited photos on Wiis' message board. Once you have done this, you can save the digital photos inside the console.

Nintendo has announced the additional enhancements to the Photo Channel that are now available in gaming stores. Instead of Photo Channel 1.0, it will be replaced with the 1.1 version wherein AAC files are now able to be played. Choose the better option because once the console is upgraded with the new version, it will be impossible to play MP3 files.
