Let's face it, you may not be in a real battle but you are up against the challenge of taking care of an elderly person. And knowing, as they say, is half the battle. So get to know who you have to take care of. Learn about their eating habits, their health conditions, their emotional states. Learn as much as you can about their personalities and also mental conditions. Remember that elderly people sometimes have problems with their memory.

Set Up Rules.
If they are going to stay in your house, they might as well follow your rules in the house. And the best way to let them know of your rules is at the onset. Set up rules in the house that you think will apply to them and discuss these rules when they start living in your house.
Step 3
Learn About Their Medical Condition.
If they have a medical condition or a health issue that should be watched over, learn all you can about it. It pays to know what you are dealing with in terms of health. Know the treatments that they will be needing, the medicines that they will be taking, the foods that they should be eating. Know its symptoms especially of an attack or when it is at its worst stage. Know what you should expect from the illness. You should also research on how to prevent the health problems from worsening, its risk factors, so that you can avoid them.
Step 4
Prepare Their Quarters.
Before they come to your house, make sure that you have a room where they can sleep. This is part of senior care. Prepare a cozy room for them, somewhere that is warm and comfortable. Think about their condition in preparing for the room. Are they able to walk comfortably? If they can't put them on the ground floor of the house so that they won't have to use the stairs anymore.
