Lexus Hybrid: Privilege And Practicality

Most people think that cars not run by gas are weird frail boxes on wheels. Fortunately, developments in hybrid technology has given customers a new option to save gas, help the environment and look good while doing it. Ever since the Toyota Prius came out in 1997, other automobile companies have come up with their own hybrid designs. When the Ford Escape hybrid came out in 2004, it was just the start of a long line of hybrids that delivered performance and class.

Lexus has been known to create luxury cars. Following the footsteps of the Ford Company they have created their own hybrid called the Lexus GS 450h. It's a four door luxury sedan that combines an eco-friendly design with all the trappings of a luxury car.

Hybrid With Style

Hybrid technology has come a long way since 1997 when the Toyota Prius came out. It was a simple four door car. The Honda Insight on the other hand was to too odd for the public. Ford released its hybridized Ford Escape which took hybrids to a different level. After that many more variants of Prius, Insight and hybrid Sport utility hybrids came long. Lexus came in 2006 and proved that luxury can come in with efficiency.

The vehicle was equipped with a V6 engine and a high output electric motor. It has a 339 horsepower which makes it a hot rod among hybrids. It has the latest technology of the Toyota Motor company, the hybrid synergy system. Apart from the eco friendly features it also has additional accessories to make sure that the driver and the passengers are comfortable. This is very far from the early hybrids which only offered air-conditioning and multiple CD changers at best.

The vehicle's valve timed engine features are continuous variable transmission, gear-ratio steering, regenerative braking, and variable suspension. It also includes an ultra lightweight boost converter that gives it a remarkable propulsion management.

It has a six CD changer on the dashboard, heated and ventilated seats. It's equipped with a navigation system that can be activated by voice command, surround sound with a 14 speaker audio system, adaptive cruise control, and a stereo system which supports DVD and VCDs that can be played on the LCD screen.

The Lexus is a full hybrid and for the most part feels like a bigger Prius for the rich. It's designed for a richer demographic who want to be eco friendly.
