The success of a garage sale is intensely dependent on its price range, garage sale organizers must ensure that they’re selling all their items at a price that buyers are willing to pay.

Lower But Never Higher

Keep in mind that most of the items you’re selling are things that you don’t desire anymore. It’s okay to sell them for less than the right price – what’s important is that you’re still getting money for it. Never price them at a higher price because of their sentimental value. Remember that your customers can’t appreciate the memories it stores for you.

Keep It Under Five

Garage sales often feature items that are priced at or less than five dollars. It would be good to follow this trend for your garage sale as well unless you’re reasonably sure that your items are desirable and valuable enough to make buyers willing to pay more.

Groups And Bundles

Garage sale hunters are a very thrifty lot. They are generally more inclined to buy things that are sold in groups and bundles – even if it means going over their budget. Combs, make up items and other beauty products can be bundled together and sold as one product.

Offer Various Promos

Items that you have an abundant supply of can be sold with a buy-one-take-one promo. What’s important is to do everything possible to encourage your customers to spend. You can make use of other promos, too. You can offer customers the chance to take one item for free as long as they buy at least 5 other items or reach a certain amount.

Pricing Based On Condition And Quality

Items that are the same except for their condition may be priced differently. A tattered copy of a classic novel can be sold for $2 while an excellent copy may be priced at $5. The mere act of cleaning and polishing your products will also increase their value. Don’t worry about the customers complaining; they instinctively understand that better product condition and quality can mean an increase in price.

One cause for garage sale chaos is the use of an inefficient pricing system. To avoid haggling and minimize the number of times customers pester you about prices, place a price tag on every item you’re selling.
