Joining A Remote Controlled Car Association

As enthusiasts strive for excellence in their hobbies, it is only natural for them to band together with other likeminded individuals; an association of these hobbyists then makes sense. A good remote controlled car association is a great place for budding and experienced remote controlled car hobbyists to further their enjoyment and open doors to new levels of experience and competition.

It is also a great way to know the latest developments in the world of the remote controlled car hobby. It is also a sort of club house where hobbyists can compare notes - and compare cars, of course. Finding a good association to join is important if you are truly serious about the hobby. It isn't fun having your own remote controlled car when you don't have anyone to play with, after all.

1. Find A Good Association.

You can check with your local remote controlled shop for any associations they may know of. People that own these shops are hobbyists themselves and are well-connected to other organizations. It also wouldn't hurt to be in the same association as the owners of the place you go to for shopping.

You could also look up enthusiast magazines and check the internet for various clubs and associations that cater to your type of hobby.

2. Does The Association Cater To Your Type Of Remote Controlled Hobby?

There are many categories of remote controlled car associations. You have to make sure that you find the right one to join - or at least find out if there are activities for your specialization. Look out for 1/10, 1/5, and 1/4 scale specific associations. Also look for sprint class, sport, or stock class competition.

These associations will usually hold tourneys or will send delegations to major tourneys. Joining up with the right association helps you get into the circle of competition that would not be available to you in other situations.

3. Rules And Regulations.

Make sure that the association you are joining has good charter rules and regulations to allow for fair and productive competition. It should also specify standard rules to hone your tuning and racing skills for major tournaments.

It should allow for the fair sharing of racing, modifying, and tuning information among its members. This should allow everyone in the association to improve in his or her remote controlled car skills.

4. Membership Requirements.

You will also have to be aware of the membership requirements for each association. Some will charge a fee; some require regular attendance to certain activities, or subscription to association specific organs. In any case make sure you can abide by its requirements.
