Getting into debt is a result of many useless and impulsive spending. So if such spending are caught early and taken care of, you will be on track of financial freedom.
Always make a spending plan. You may also call it budget. Write down your income and expenses. How much you get, how much you spend and what you save? If you had done this planning earlier in life, you never ever had gotten into debt. This expenditure tracking and knowing your savings is an established and proven tactic to stay away from debt. But no one acts upon this advice.
Anyhow, tracking your expenditure may help you in getting out of debt. You will identify many purchases, which could be avoided or better done if you had planned in your monthly budget. You do not need costly software for it. MS Excel is enough. Make expense categories. Some expenses are recurring and fixed in nature. Some are emergency expenses. Write down your daily expenses. Each week, analyze your spending plan. Just recording your expenses in not enough. Actual work is to analyze it and take corrective and preventive actions.
Send every penny saved to your credit card debts. Pay more than minimums and adhere to tracking and analyzing your expenses. You should have tracking for each month. If you know how much you earn, how much and where you spend and how much you save, I can guarantee you that you will never be in credit card debt trap.
