Christmas parties are incomplete without games. Games can really make a Christmas party fun and enjoyable. There are several simple games that will spice up your Christmas party. You might be surprised at some of the games that are apparently quite simple but entertaining nonetheless! In this article I will tell you about six of these games.
1. Gift Unwrapping With Oven Mitts:
When your guests come with wrapped presents at your party, give them oven mitts. Tell them to unwrap the presents with the help of oven mitts. Then watch how many people are able to unwrap their gifts. This is sure to garner a lot of laughter as people struggle to unwrap the tape as well as the wrapping paper. The one who successfully unwraps their gift wins a prize.
2. Chocolate Gift:
Give 10 chocolates to each guest. The rule is that if someone in the party catches a guest uttering words like 'Christmas', "Presents' or 'Santa', then the guest will have to surrender a chocolate to them. The guest with the most chocolates becomes the winner.
3. The Ugliest Sweater:
This is a very funny game and useful if the guests don't know each other well. Ask your guests to come to your party wearing the ugliest sweater they have! Obviously, the one with the worst sweater wins a prize of your choice. In my opinion, this is one of the simplest of all Christmas party games and I played it quite a number of times at Christmas parties.
4. Wrap The Gift While Blindfolded:
In this game, you need to blindfold all the guests and give them wrapping paper, tape and a present and ask them to wrap the present. See how many people are able to wrap the present while blindfolded. The one who is successful in wrapping the present completely becomes the winner of a prize. This is one game where a little precaution is necessary on your part. You need to make sure that the wrapping paper is cut according to the size of the present as using scissors blindfolded can be quite harmful.
5. Stocking Mystery:
Put several things of different shapes and sizes inside stockings. You can put anything ranging from star-shaped items to cones. Make sure the shapes you use are of varying sizes. Ask people to guess what objects are there in the stocking. Obviously one who can get it all right is the winner.
6. Cards And Presents:
I am sure this game would be a hit among habitual card players. If you have cards then split them into two decks. Keep one deck for yourself and have the other one for the guests. You should have purchased presents at least half of the total number of guests. Let the guests pick and choose the cards. Then start reading the card suit and the number aloud. The guest who has the card with those matching numbers can pickup a present. When there are no more presents left, then they will have to take presents from each other. This is quite a fun game and I suggest you play it at least once.
As you can see, games can really add spice to an otherwise boring Christmas party. If you have not been using them until now, you should start playing them right from this year!
